Project Love Revs Up

The custom wool rugs for Project Love are here! You may know it takes custom rugs a while to be made. The waiting is just a part of it especially if you want it done well. I love this rug company. Select the fiber colors to compliment the palette, specify the finish(s), design the motif and viola ~ a beautiful, high end sumptuous area rug. The one above sits in between the staircases. Don't you love the glass art I placed on the foyer table?

I love how elegant this looks. Note the brick red band on the drape repeated in rug.

Somebody likes the way the rug feels :)

These pictures do not do this rug justice. It is just stunning. I designed this rug to compliment the Hickory Chair buffet I placed in the room.

It is coming together. Not quite done but definitely on its way...

I love repeating patterns throughout a home in subtle ways. I have repeated the arc motif in the kitchen, which is adjacent to the dining room.

In the kitchen, the pantry door was replaced. I added a mirror insert. This was done in part due to a window being removed to accommodate the gorgeous hood. The mirror adds back some of the lost light by reflecting the natural light that remains. I designed the mullion on the right, which will be installed on the mirror echoing the arc motif from the dining room. It is being fabricated in faux wrought iron with a nickel finish consistent with the other nickel elements in the room. An intimate detail adding lovely rhythm and harmony to the home.

The Greek Key motif from the first photo will be repeated in a very subtle way in the living room. You'll have to stay tuned to see that. That particular furnishing is on its way...

Pure Bliss

Yesterday I had the most pleasurable and relaxing massage I have ever had. It was at my usual spa ~ Amenity Day Spa.

I go there every three weeks for brow and bikini tending. Those are not typically relaxing appointments. Remember I told you my husband gives me gift certificates to Amenity fairly often and tells me they are not for my routine appointments but for pampering time? Well I finally used one for post Gala relief.

They have a service were two massage therapists work with you at once ~ TWO. That means that practically your entire body is being worked on at the same time. The two massage therapists I had were Chelsea and Jen. They were amazing. They were in complete unison with each other which made for the most relaxing massage I have ever had. Now I am completely spoiled. One massage therapist will never be enough!

So ~ How did the Gala Go?!!

Well, I don't really have any great pictures yet ~ but I will. One of my photographers was in attendance taking pictures. I'll show them to you as soon as I get them. The one above was taken with friend's cell phone :) Here I am with some of my gorgeous girlfriends that attended the Gala and served as spotters during the live auction. The live auction was a hoot. I have never been an auctioneer before. It was actually kind of fun! I kept losing my place though. I was hamming it up so much I kept forgetting the amount I was on. I had to ask the audience a couple of times. All in all it was a roaring success. I am still recovering and trying to get my home back in order. My family is glad to have me back. In fact on Sunday, which was a beautiful day, I lounged until early afternoon then took my daughter to Pumpkinville for a little R&R.

Lauren loved the zip line and face painting.

Here is another shot of Gregg Karukas and I. Not a very good photo :( I am so unphotogenic! Bonnie is the only one that can make me look like me! Stay tuned for those.
Gregg was phenominal! I danced and danced! By that time the live auction was over so I was free and clear.
I have so many people to thank for their support and help with the Gala....
