Fun Friday ~ Design Divas + One

My dear friend, Kristin, is in town meeting with interior design clients and customers for her eco-friendly line of furniture, the Kristin Drohan Collection. Naturally, we stole an evening to get the gang together. We call ourselves the Design Divas ~ why?? Because we can. Seriously, we are all in design or related artistic fields. It's a lovely group of women. Back row left to right ~ Paula, Karen, Andie, and Beverly. Front row ~ me, Kristin, and the plus one, Cindy. We had a fabulous time talking, laughing, eating, and drinking. Cindy was the designated driver for Kristin and I as she is with child (and had a foot or two sticking out every now and then during dinner). We were quite a show for the other patrons but the waiters sure seemed entertained. So Fun Friday actually happened on Thursday night. Who knew Thursday could be such a happenin' night?! In complete seriousness ~ where would we be without out girlfriends? So this weekend give a girlfriend a call and have a chat or better yet spend some time together. You'll be glad you did.

Artist Series ~ Andie Smarrelli

My husband's 50th birthday was approaching. The big surprise party was being planned. But what to get him as a special gift?? No worries, I have Andie (aka Bojams Studio)! I am fortunate to be surrounded by so many lovely and talented women. We actually have a group. We call ourselves the Design Divas. Speaking of which, Andie's talents are so numerous, they could not possibly be covered in one blog. That's why my dear friend and colleague are tag teaming today. My husband is an avid golfer. He just loves chasing the little white ball around. I like to golf too mostly because golf courses are so beautiful. The gift for his 50th would pay homage to the sport he loves so much and.....

The picture at the top are the set of glasses I commissioned Andie to do. Each glass expertly pictures a golf course my husband has played and enjoyed. Beautiful, yes?! But that is only have of it. Take a look.....
The outside boasts an lovely scene. The inside conveys a personal message.... Let me show them to you up close....

Here we are on Superbowl Sunday when our beloved Pittsburgh Steelers won.....

Jim builds model railroads... here he is with our daughter and nephews in the train room....

These two (above and below) let him know how much I love him.... Andie gave me a rockin' body ~ gotta love that!

All I did was give Andie some pictures and sayings and she captured the sentiment perfectly.

This house painted in such detail its mind-boggling.... these make excellent gifts from interior designer to client or for a new home.....

This depicts the church a couple married in..... lovely!
