Today is a studio day for me so I am in a tee shirt and shorts ~ comfy, comfy! I also had time to make our beds this morning. Imagine that?!! I really do not like having un-made beds in my home.
Lately my beds have looked more like these than the one at the top. There is something spectacular to me about clean, crisp sheets in a neat bed that I adore. Every time I wash the sheets, I get into bed and say ~ out loud ~ "Ah, clean sheets." My husband always echos me. These thoughts led me to the song "these are a few of my favorite things...." You know the song ~ from the Sound of Music...
Well, here is one of mine ~ beautiful bedding, crisp, clean, soft sheets, neat as a pin ...
On good days, this is what my bed looks like ...
On busy days... well... you don't need to see that. You get the picture ;-)
So, made bed, un-made bed ~ which are you?
Guess what?!! Tomorrow I'm a guest writer on Jane's wonderful blog Finding Fabulous. Isn't that the perfect name for a blog? Jane was so lovely to ask me. Come back tomorrow and check it out (here or there :-)
All made beds are compliments of Wildcat Territory Bedding. The un-made beds are compliments of busy folks like me.

Oh, most certainly made. I have a weird thing about unmade beds, said this recently in a comment on a post by Thrifty Decor Chick in which she said she rarely made her bed. For me, I find if I don't make the beds the day just kind of drags on with little energy, like I haven't accepted it is day and it is time to move on to things. The opposite is true when the beds are made! I'm trying to teach the kids to make their beds because some days this means a lot of bed making! Janell
ReplyDeleteDepends on the day...but I guess right now , un made....though I admire made...I think if I had lovely bedding, and a decorated bedroom I would then be the opposite.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Paula. I have come to love the process of making the bed. I view it as a beautiful ritual paying homage to the rest the night before and preparing it and myself for the luxurious moment of returning to such comfort at the end of the day. So, I am definitely a "made."
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a half and half. I always have good intentions of making my be but it only actually happens 3 or 4 time a week. My idea of luxury is sleeping on clean crisp sheet everyday. That of course doesn't happen either.
ReplyDeleteI love having a made bed. I find time to do it every morning because I too appreciate the crispness of a fresh, clean bed. Another simplistic way to personalize and make your house a home is through window treatments. I came across your post this afternoon while browsing interior design blogs and the topic of window treatment selection was very interesting to me. It is true that you must dress your windows appropriately to bring out their true beauty.
