It is very difficult for my when a client stops just shy of the accessories. They figure they'll pick them up eventually. Please ~ never, never stop short of the accessories. It's what brings the design to life!

  1. And they can be the fun part of any project, the icing on the cake!! I think it comes down to money and perhaps the idea that accessories should be things collected over time that have personal meaning, rather than shopped for all at once. I suggest clients shop their homes for some of the accessories, things that might not be put to their best use elsewhere may find new life in the new design.

  2. I think you are right. Of course shopping in the client's home is part of almost any project. I am speaking about the ones that when I go back to their homes months, even years later, the room is still undressed. I have been pleasantly surprised too by what my clients have come up with. Maybe its me ~ just seeing something undone makes me a tiny bit sad :(

  3. Sometimes when I see an all white room, I feel like it really lacks some unique accessories, cool flooring, a pop of color, etc. That first room is awesome! The white is perfect with that flooring and the accessories! I love it!
