The Corset is Coming ~

Its amazing how much fashion influences interior design. Above are Spring 2010 corset designs that are gracing runways as I type.

Look at this lovely design. This could be found on the back of a wedding dress much like the one above but its not.....

Its found on a drape. This is a tie back. I usually don't use tie backs but this series may change my mind.

This fantastic series is called the Corseted Tieback from the Details Pattern Company. Of course it is! Their company names says it all. This is definitely a fine detail not to be overlooked.

Corsets can be very sexy.....

How about one made of leather ~ its not even tied ~ now that is flirtatious!

They can do wonderful things for your torso ~ elongate for example.....

Look at how this wraps around, cinches, and elongates ever so gracefully.....

I find these tie backs to be completely sensual. I originally thought 'how wonderful they would be in a feminine design?' Then I thought 'what man wouldn't want his drapes to look like a sexy woman greeting him at the window every night when he comes home?' Hmmm??!!

Thoughts?

Fun Friday ~ Shouldn't Renee Be Here?

What was Elle Decor thinking? They should have asked Renee to grace these covers in her fabulous Carolina Herrera originals!

Yes, I would say Renee looks smart and sexy in gray! She should have been standing to the left of the sofa.

Romantic with a touch of sparkle in this one shoulder beauty! They should have expanded the shot so Renee could be standing just right of the cocktail table ~ her hip echoing the shape of its side.

Renee poised just behind the middle the sofa would been the epitome of classic cool!

Sexy, sexy, sexy ~ they probably would have sold more copies with Renee standing just left of the chair.

I've joined the
Hooked on Houses Friday Party ~ check it out!

Enjoy your weekend!

Gossip Girl ~

InStyle.com is featuring the Gossip Girl set this month including where to find some of the furnishings. See the 360 by clicking here.

The show's production designer is Loren Weeks ~ what a fantastic job she does! I love the long table behind the sofa but it isn't sourced. The sofas are quite stylish....They are the Hudson sofa from Desiron available at All Modern Furniture.

The dining room is simple and fabulous, especially the chairs......
The fluidity of the curves is beautiful. The Cherner armchair is available via Design Within Reach.

Serena's bedroom. Click here for the 360.
Weeks' use of neutrals, wall paper, and fabric on the perimeter of the room is wonderful. The headboard is a simple dot pattern. On one side of the room, she generously framed-up some beautiful wall paper; opposing it she used the same hues on the window treatments. All three of these large elements are in neutral hues. Great harmony and balance. This allows the mixing of other colors and patterns within as seen in the shot above.

The art throughout the set is magnificent. The art and lighting were the first things I noticed when viewing the 360s! All very well done in my opinion. Plus the show supports the Art Production Fund by using their art on the set. The Art Production Fund is a non-profit devoted to exposing new audiences to contemporary art.

How wonderful!
