Conversations with Lauren

"Mommy, I want to do Lots of Love." Lauren tells me this one day. "What's that my love?" "I want to give my hair to someone who needs it." Oh ~ Locks of Love. I wondered out loud how she knew about this organization. Lauren told me that Kristin V., our family friend, did it and now she would like to do it too. "Are you sure Lauren?" "Yes mommy, I'm sure." Ok then ~ we went to the website and printed off everything we needed. We are on our way...

A quick wash and condition...

Comb out...
It must be braided or in a pony tail...

It has to be at least 10.5" long. She made it!

OMG!!!!!! Snip, snip, snip........

There's my girl holding her donation ~ she and I are beaming!

Her cut and styling is complimented with a chocolate Tootsie pop...

and pink temporary highlights.

We finish our day with a manny and pedie.

Farewell sweet locks ~ find a home and give her TLC.

What is Locks of Love?

"Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers."

You've done a wonderful thing my love and I couldn't be more proud of you!
