Frank Lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright needs no introduction. He was a genius. The house above is the Meyer May House in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This house was built in 1908. It was dusted off and spiffed up in the mid-1980's by Steelcase Corp. Bravo Steelcase!

Here's more (a bit dry but impressive never the less).....

Frank Lloyd Wright's Meyer May House

Below is the Fallingwater....
Fallingwater has original furnishings and artwork intact. The weekend home for Edgar J. Kaufman, department store giant, was built in 1939. Besides the magnificent architecture, this home takes your breath away ~ the stunning placement ~ cantilevered over a waterfall.

Frank Lloyd Wright.....

His own home and studio.....

is in Oak Park, Illinois.

He was a man ahead of his time and studied as rigorously today as he was when designing. He'll be studied forever I suppose. You can learn more about this amazing man and his architecture at the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust and support continued education with his principles at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

  2. I'm fascinated by FLW. I enjoyed the Meyer May house video. I thought it was interesting when he says there was no artwork on the walls because Wright considered the house itself a work of art. Thanks for posting that!

  3. The last picture is actually not his Oak Park home and studio. That picture is of a house just down the street... This is a pic of his home and studio: http://www.lostbrain.com/features/brandon/frank/studio
